5th and 10th Grade Curricula Choices

I am the first to admit it, my ambitious Charlotte Mason/Ambleside plans for 4th grade were a disaster.  What would have come easily to our eldest is agony for our younger one.  We learned a lot about what is working, what isn't and how she learns this year and so I've made these choices and am hoping for the best.

 5th Grade
Going "old school" with Language arts, these classics have been updated a bit but remain classic texts, tried and true.  First written in 1876, these are now available free on Google books, for purchase by Lost Classics and in a wonderful workbook format, linked below.
Intermediate Language Lessons in workbook format with the Teacher's Manual.

William Elson wrote this 9 volume series in 1909 and they remain relevant today, he followed up in the 1930's with the Dick and Jane books that I grew up reading.
Elson Reader's Book 5 with the Teacher's manual.
The texts are also available free on Google Books  but not the teacher guide.

Christian Kids Explore Chemistry

Because Rowan is doing honors high school chemistry and we bought all the supplies.  I also picked up some rock bottom price supplies at the last CBD warehouse sale.  A $60 kit for $9.99!!

Story of the World 2 with Activity Book  tried and true, sticking with this one for 5th, 6th and 7th and going with a world history overview for 8th and another classical rotation for high school.

Quite a list. Evan and Emma are totally different in learning as well.

Why there are formatting issues is a mystery and bugging me but there you have it anyway. :)

I'm liking that book list... is that a stirring of inspiration to read more in me? Thanks!
